Default 1986 watercooled 911

i've seen air cooled 3.6l engines in old 911s. i'm planning on putting a 96-98 3.6l in mine some day, but i was thinking and i know it's not to difficult to put a 96-98 engine in an old 911... but how hard would it be to put a new 997 3.6l or 3.8l into an older 911... i relize the transmission would also have to be from a newer 997, but what else would have to be done? any opinions on how much more in labor this could cost then a simple 97 3.6 engine swap? what would be involved? thanks in advance.

It would take extensive modifications to the chassis, and you would also have to figure a way to plumb in everything for watercooling.
