Default 1989 speedster question

I have the opportunity to buy a 16,000 mile red speedster for 40,000. The car was involved in a very minor parking lot scrape, but the owner of the car wanted the paint match to be perfect and being that the car was a 1989, he had the whole car repainted with the original color. I know that the car hasnt had any other damage in its history, so what Im asking is if the 40,000.00 he's asking for the car is a good deal or is it too much for a car that doesnt have the original paint? The rest of the car is in excellent shape with no other problems.

Default RE: 1989 speedster question

There isn't anything wrong with not having the original paint as long as the color code stayed the same.
