Assuming the car passes inspection at the local Porsche dealer, I will be buying a low milage Targa next week. The car looks great and runs well except the rear hatch squeeks incessantly. The current owner had the latch mechanism replaced once by a porsche dealer to no avail. I suspect a small piece of rubber tubing on the latch or rubber strip judiciously placed might fix the problem, but If anyone out there has had the same problem I'd appreciate some heads up on what might be promising areas to approach. As far as buying the car, the squeek is not a show stopper, but I'd really like to fix it immediaately.
