Default 996 tiptronic sticky

Has anyone ever experienced the tiptronic in a 996 being reluctant to change gears in the first minute or so while the car is started from cold.It eventually changes , but i think it revs out a bit higher than normal before changing, at normal driving speeds. After about 1 or two minutes of driving it becomes normal. Anyone know what it could be?

Default RE: 996 tiptronic sticky

Well, mine has a warm-up mode when cold in which it holds each gear to a bit higher RPM, and this lasts for about a mile of driving on city streets. I understand this facilitates warming up both the engine and the catalysts quicker for less wear and clear emissions sooner. But even in that mode the engine will shift "normally" but just at a higher RPM than normal, even, as likely on most mornings driving to work, I'm going pretty slow and sleepy myself, having not reached my operating temperature yet, either.
