Default 997 X51 and Sports Chrono Thoughts

I finally made the move and ordered a new 2008 997 C4S, tipronic basalt black with X51 and sport chrono fitted. Was looking at a low km 996 turbo cab but it had some hidden faults (oil leaks). At this stage, I can still remove options from my 997 order.
Does anybody have hands on experience with either of these options? I'm bamboozled reading the web. Many persons are speculating on the difference between X51 vs none; rather than hands on. Is the power increase noticable or a let down?
Does the Sports Chrono give any low end boost?
Is the sports exhaust excessively noisy? I love the engine noise (main reason for buying it) but it may be annoying on a long hike in a cabrio?
Looking forward to some advice, thanks.

thoughts? It's a great car all around. Lots of improvements over my model, 996. I've driven one and rode in it as well. The biggest thing I would say about your order is you are getting the additional sports package, and it's worth it, etc, and it is a cab, but you are getting the automatic. The person I know who ordered his in an automatic regrets it and the resale/demand for a used automatic is limited. Even the salesperson who sold it told him we don't get the demand for the automatic here...which is why he had to order it as well.

I drove the car in the non cab version, 2007, and turned the sports exhaust on and off. It had a great note on. It seems like an exhupt valve, similar to what they are using in motorcycles, 1000cc and higher to keep sound levels down for epa, etc, but I could be wrong. I also test drove the audi rs4 at the same time as the c4s and back to back, the audi was preferred for exhaust, trans, but I wanted a porsche. I too had the opportunity to buy a low mileage, 3k, 2001 turbo coupe(non cab) and bought that instead of the new c4s 6spd and have been completely satisfied with my purchase.

Good luck with your purchase and test drive the automatic and stick back to back to make sure you really want the automatic. That's the big option I would reconsider...

I had the x51 on my 997 c4s coupe, It was a waste of money, both from the boost and the sale of the car. Sports chrono was better value, and the PSE is worth it, cab or coupe. It really was the thing I liked most about the car. Also, the resale is limited and lower ( in the southeast) for a TIP.

I have a Feb 2008 allocation for a Turbo Coupe. Wish I could get PSE on it

Thanks for your comments. The Tiptronic wasn't an option; I am too tall to comfortably use the clutch. I took another drive of a 997 4S on an open road, an amazing car. In the end, I ticked the boxes; X51 and Sports Chrono. I don't want to be wondering if I could have had more. (Turbo wasn't my preference). Delivery expected in April.
