Advice needed on new Targa
I currently own a 911 Cab and I am strongly considering a Targa. I am not wild about the rag top. I have it up 90% of the time so I can chat on the phone, listen to the radio, etc. I like the open feel of it, but not the noise with it up or down for that matter. I was thinking a Targa might be the ticket. However, do they get a green house hot effect in them? I'm in So. Cal, so it can get pretty frickin' hot!
Any advice?

Hi, I own a 2007 Targa 4. I was also afraid it might get really hot inside the car but there is a motorized screen that covers the inside letting in light but really cutting the heat. You can retract the screen if you wish. When you open the roof, the screen retracts into a roller. The only real problem is with the roof totally retracted, you lose a little bit of visability thru the rear window. But.. one large plus is that the rear window opens like a hatch back making loading stuff into the rear very easy.. I'm very happy with my Targa.. Good luck finding one as there are very few around..

Notice any rattle issues?
My Cayman had occasional rattles with the hatch.
FYI: Harpers Porsche in Knoxville TN. have had a Black 2008 Targa 4S in their showroom for quite awhile.

Today is one year since I picked up my '07 Targa 4and I'm approaching 16k miles. I have not had any complaints or problems. I did do an oil change at 10k and as of today, I have not burned any oil. In another few weeks, I'll be storing the car for the winter. With a ton of snow and well below zero temps up here in Saratoga Springs, NY, it dosn't make sense to drive this car. I'll save my Chevy Tahoe for that. Did a 165 mile+ drive the other day and had the roof open all the way with the heated seat on.. Pure comfort and enjoyment...

They are beautiful cars. The new version sounds like an outstanding design. I'm a Cab aficionado, but some depends on where you live, how you deal with things like the mobile phone (I installed a moBridge) and whether you can tolerate the noise. But I always consider switching, so one question. What's the noise level like? Like a Cab with the top up? Like a coupe? Just wondering?
