Got in my 2002 911 today for a sunny Sunday drive in Seattle.
Put the check on my calendar driving my car to 180 degrees as doc said to maintain the garage queen for the winter.
Pulled the Porsche charge o mat from my lighter and waited for the oil to drop.
Turned the key then sounded like a gun shot and smoke out of the front area--I assume the batter because nothing works after that. Can't open the front end with the key and windows won't close.

Will call AAA tomorrow but can you suggest? Did the battery vaporize or did I destroy electical? Anyone else hav anything similar?

Any ideas on getting to the battery when nothing works?

You can use jumper cables on the red post in the fuse panel and give enough power to the car to pop the trunk. Porsche sells a battery maintainer that plugs into the cig lighter? I have never seen that one, typically they attach straight to the battery. Sounds to me like the battery was over charged, so I would look suspiciously at your charging unit as possibly being defective.
