Default C4S Throttle Response

Hey Guy's I'm new to this site and first I'd like to say this forum is blessed to have someone like the PorscheDoc here, Now to the question, I just traded my '99 Cab for a 03 C4S and it doesn't seem as responsive as the cab did ,,I mean when you hit the gas in the c4 it's real smooth and quick but I was expecting alittle more ,,I my have been wrong in my thinking buy the cab was quick and it reved up through the gear box faster. Is this normal ? are they the same HP? Any answeres are welcome

Your 99 was a cable controlled throttle body (you step on the gas, a cable connects the pedal to the throttle body), where as 2000 and later are electronic, also known as e-gas....no cable. Hence the difference in response time.

Default RE: C4S Throttle Response

Hi
There is another possible factor too. It seems you have probably gone from 2WD on your 99 Cab, to 4WD on the 03 Car.4WD does absorb some of the available HP/Torque to overcome the additional transmission losses from the 4WD set up. This may also be a little of what you are sensing.
Take a look at having a REVO Techniks Upgrade ($895) to your car. Apart from adding upto 20hp it does inprove mid range torque, and as part of the package you can set your throttle response to suit your driving style. See http://www.revotechnik.com/products/....aspx?pvID=474
I found the maximum of Setting 9 a little too much for town driving - but 7 was spot on.
Regards Big Bob
