Before purchasing some important input would be great. Are these cars squeakly, rattle and flex with the convertible top up like Amercian built products? If so, I'd rather go with the coupe. Thanks for the input!

No they are not nearly as bad, though you are going to have some associated cab noise over a coupe.

You may want to consider a Targa. I'm on my second (1990 & 2002) and have been very pleased. You get a lot of the benefits of a coupe (more stable/rigid) frame and the enjoyment of an open top.

i can tell you for a FACT that the german tops are better than the american tops.. though you will indeed get the usual noise here and there on occasion... personally i believe driving a convertible is the ONLY way to do it...

I have owned 3 cabs and NEVER had a problem with the top. I currently have a 03 cab. Clearly not as quiet as a coupe, but not nearly as noisy as other convertibles I have been in. It's actually quite impressive.

I have had 2 cabs and one coupe and I will always have a cab. The996 and onhave very limited flex but of coarse they will have a little over the coupe. I track my cab and then put the top down and drive it home. You will like them both but I like the cab more.

Well said bryanc. By the way, nice car. You need to post some pics in your gallery.

Cabs are fine. On my 02 C4 cab I used the removable hardtop and yes it is quieter.
On the 06 I'm now driving it is remarkably quiet. Never a rattle.
The interior of the top is finished really nicely, not like the old days when they had those exposed bars.
Bottom line. Go for a cab. You can always turn up the music...
