Engine swap
Hey all,
I'm new to the forum, but I have big ambitions for a customized porsche. I've got a lot of research to do yet, and I know it will take a long time and plenty of work and money to realize my vision (if it's possible), but I'd love to create a hybrid porsche with new technology and old style. My biggest question is with regards to the engine. If I were to revamp an old 911's (1973 or so) body and suspension to handle a bigger, newer engine, would it be possible to swap the old '73 engine out with something newer and more powerful engine? Might there be a late model engine out there that by some wonderful coincidence could more or less slide into the old engine's spot without much trouble? Or, how much trouble would it be to convert the car into recieving a new engine? Any ideas for any newer-ish engines would be greatly appreciated. I just want to get an idea of what it's going to take to achieve my goal.
Thanks
