Default Greetings! Im a new 911 owner and have a radio/climate question

Greetings all!

I am very excited to have just bought a 2002 911 C2 Cab with 18K miles on it. Seal Gray with a black top - WOW!

I do have a couple questions because "technologically speaking" I majorly downgraded from my 2001 M5. Here we go...

1) I do not have navigation in my car and want it. Currently in the top DIN on the center dash is the (1)climate control... next down is the (2) stock radio. Then below is the (3) CD holder and a (4) vacant cavity for stuff. I want to move the climate control from DIN #1 down to DIN #3. This way I have two open DINs to place a cool Navigation (CD/DVD, Bluetooth, XM etc.. ) unit in the spots for climate and stock radio. Question is - how hard is it to move the climate from DIN #1 to DIN #3? Are the wiring harnesses long enough?

2) Has anyone done any stereo upgrades and do you have any opinions or pictures or stories to share?

Attached or below is a picture of my desire but Im not sure if the harness for the climate control is long enough...

Thanks all - Love the car so far!!!!

Yup, not a big deal and the harness is long enough. Hardest part is just snaking the big plugs down the back, but it is very doable. I usually install the double din dav systems in the upper location like you are talking, but I have also mounted them down in the lower slots as well.

Doc: Have you seen this on eBay?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...:IT&ih=012

Doc - In your opinion, would this be all I would need for an install like what you've done? Also - where are you located? Can I hire you? :-)

Thanks for the help!

Lol, i am in Kansas City. I have never used one of those kits off ebay, just custom installed it myself, but it looks like everything you need is included there, and would make the install a little easier. Porsche actually has a factory trim piece for the Pioneer double din unit (it is actually an option available when ordering the car in Japan)
