Default My First 911

I've wanted a 911 for a very long time. Its time to turn in my lease and I'm thinking that I'd be happier with a used 911 than a new anything else. Considering a 99 thats been well maintained witrh 60-70k miles. I would intend on taking good care of it and putting about 2-5K per year in for maintainence. I would need to put on about 10k miles per year. Am i being rational or is an 8 year old car just not a good idea. Thanks for your input.

I would say with your expectations of possible maintenance numbers, that you can easily buy a 996 and enjoy it. At the 60-70k mile mark make sure you look at the life of the brakes (rotors usually need to be replaced by 60k, depending on driving conditions), the condition of the rear main seal (look for leaking at the engine/tranny connection, or any signs of leakage on the ground), and also maintenance records on the clutch. By 60k-70k miles, the clutch is probably about shot, so if you can find a car that has had a brake job and a clutch job recently, you should be good to go.
