Need tire advice
Hey all - I'm buying tires for the Porsche for the first time and could use some advice.
It's an '01 996 C2 with 18" wheels, and it currently has the Pirelli P Zeros. I'm not that happy with the lateral grip and traction, and would be willing to give up some tread life for better grip on the occasional track day. I'd like to get at least 10k miles out of the rears and have decent rain performance, so it can't be a totally uncompromising tire.
On other cars I've tried the Yoko A048 (too much wear), Yoko AVS Sport (not a lot of feel) Bridgestone S-02 (good, but not quite grippy enough).
What do you guys think?

RE: Need tire advice
I currently have Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 on my Evo (OEM were Yokohama Advan AO48). The OEM tires had amazing grip but wore out after 18,000 miles. I've had the Michelins for about 6 months now and am very happy. The treadwear rating is 220 (vs 160 for the Yokos) and although they're not quite as responsive as the Yokos, they're not bad. Plus they're cheaper, have better wet traction, and performed very well at my last track day at PIR (Portland). I believe they are OEM on the GT 3? Hope this helps.
