planning to purchase my 1st porsche, looking for tips
Hello,
I'm planningon purchase my 1st Porsche and was looking for some feedback as to what I need to be aware of. I amplanning to purchase a 911 between the years 1999-2001 and I have yet to decide ifit will be a C2 or C4. I'm hesitent to purchase a used C4b/c i'm concerned about the maintenance requirements for the all wheel drive system. I've heard folks say tostayaway from the 1999s but I haven't heardwhy. If anyone can please share some of your experiences or suggestions with me I would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks,

I have heard to stay away from the 1999's also. Not sure why. Also, make sure the Rear main seal is in good shape. Pretty common problem for the 996's and although it is a cheap part to fix, the labor is huge. I also think they changed the engine in 2002 and some parts of the suspension. So, you might jump to that year if you can. That being said, I have a 2001 C2 with an Aero kit and I love it.
