Default Porsche 911 Buyer's guide

Hello, I'm new to the forum. I would like to buy my dream car (911 Coupe) 2000 newer in a few month and I would like to know what is the best BUYERS GUIDE BOOK available out there?

I just want to learn more about the car, potential problems, what to look for, what to avoid. In other words a very complete and informative book.

I'm looking at this one but not sure after reading the reviews
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg...X0DER&v=glance

Thanks in advance.

Not sure if that book covers the newer models which are a whole different ball game. You can read my sticky post at the top of the page, I have to updated it, but it is fairly thorough on what to expect from a 996.

Thanks for the reply. I read your sticky a few days ago and it's great and very helpful. Actually my father was looking for a 911 and I sent him that link. We went on Saturday and test drove one locally and used all the info from the sticky. The dealer had the car listed on eBay and I placed a bid on it for my father and we won it. At the dealer they were asking $25,995 and we won it for $21,554. We are picking up the car tomorrow, we went yesterday to see it again and I had the opportunity to drive it and let me tell you, those car fill so great. This is why I want to buy one but it will be in about 6 month. I want to learn as much as I can so when is my time I can make the right decision. I always wanted one since I was a kid and I think is about time for me to have it.

I want a book so I can see pictures and learn more about Porsche plus I love to read Porsche articles.

I definitely will be using your sticky when its time for me to buy one.

Please let me know if you have any good book about Porsche.

Thanks again.
