Default Replacing full exhaust on '92 911

Friend of mine who is not very mechanically savvy recently purchased a '92 911 Carrera 2. Took it in for 60K service and was informed his headers are cracked and need replaced. He asked me to research and I have a few questions:
- Does the motor need pulled for this repair? I'm a Saab guy, new to all things Porsche...
- What else should be repaired / replaced while performing this chore
- Noticed there are several options for performance enhancements, what is best bang for the buck?
- Does anyone know of a good shop in the Kansas City area?

Thanks for your help

If he is in the KC area, then send him by the shop www.imagineauto.com we are located off I-69 and 87th street in overland park (west KC). I gaurantee our shop is unlike anything in the area (and i know all the shops in the area, lol). You do not need to drop the motor. If he wants to email me directly, my email is wookie@imagineauto.com
