Default Shift pattern cap removal on transmission ****

Is there anyone out there who can tell me how to remove the shift pattern plastic cap on top of the transmission **** of a 1988 porsche carrera? I would appreciate it. thanks.

Some shifters have a removable pattern, some do not, and are molded to the shift **** itself. I believe your car has the 1 piece unit.
