Default Starting Trouble

I have a 1969 Porsche 911 and it refuses to start for me. I have checked for spark but have none. I have replaced coil after coil and still no spark. The carbs have been rebuilt also. We have done the test to check for spark at the coil by holding coil wire 1/2 inch away from good ground which sometimes gives us a spark. But still the motor will not run. Any suggestions ???????????????

No spark or sometimes jumps a 1/2" spark? Which one? A half inch is pushing it. Will it jump a 1/4"? Have you put a timing light on it? Is the timing right? Do you smell fuel when it won't start?

Default RE: Starting Trouble

The timing is correct and I have fuel. Thank you for your reply, we have found out that the coil wire was to blame. Replaced with used wire, new ones cost wayyyyyyyyyy to much, and it fired right up. Thanks for your help.
