Hi Guys. Just got a 1986 911 - first porsche i've owned.

i've got a very 'loose' rattle in my driver door - right above the door rest, basically beside my elbow when driving if my arm were on the arm rest. I can smack the door panel and make create the rattle However, it doesn't rattle when the window is down even just slightly or down all the way. However it rattles like crazy when the window is up, and when closing the door after getting in.

Does this sound familar to anyone?

Any tips at removing the door panel to investigate further?

Yup, sounds like the window regulator assembly is loose. You can pull the door panel and make sure everything is tight, and that the arms are all in the tracks.
