Greetings All,

This is my first post to this forum...and my first Porsche arrives in my driveway in two days! Excited? You bet. I've wanted a Porsche since high school...and my 40 year re is upcoming.

Anyway, it's a 85 911 Targa; 90k; I'll be the third owner; complete prior history, a 9 out of 10 if I do say so myself - and the mechanic who has serviced it since 1999 agrees (Zeppelin Works, Chico, CA).

My question is: on the exterior of the top, right above the rear view mirror location, there is a smal "L" shaped tear in the vinyl. Any suggestions as to a product that I can use to repair this? I got my Performance Products catalog in the mail today (how'd they know the car was on its way??!!) and they listed a 3M Adhesive product. Might that work? I'm loathe to try just anything without some guidance.
