Default tiptronic problem

I have a 2000 996 Tiptronic. The car was in a bit of an accident, the left rear wheel hit a curb and shoved the wheel into the inner fender well. The left rear suspension etc was replaced, but the Tip is not working. The transmission shifts fine in the automatic mode, but when you slide it over and push the paddles up or down, it just stays in drive gear. The shift indicators on the instrument cluster just blink. Any ideas?
