which 911 is in your opinion the best, looking at its performance(acceleration, top speed, braking but handling also) and comfort also, not looking at the price and running costs, neither the look. would it be GT3,GT2 or Turbo S, or another 911 ?

I would have to say, without a doubt the Turbo. The GT's are similar performance (except GT3 is less) but handle better - at the big expensive of driveability day-to-day. For an all-rounder there is no going past the Turbo. I tried a number of them before buying mine. If you only intend on track work, go for a GT model - otherwise TURBO...

If we're talking about factory 911's, I would go with the 996 Turbo. I also like the 997 Turbo, but I'm not sure if I like those indicator lights.

Question: why is the 996 turbo better than the 997 Turbo.

I have a 1999 911cab and while I like the car, the newer design is a better slice of perfection.

Help me understand

The 997TT blows away the 996TT in pretty much all aspects. I modify both heavily for a living, and the 997TT is by far a better platform.

Doc thank you for your imput.

Johnny I agree I like the 996 looks better, not alot better but better.

I drove a 997 911S and was amazed how well it drove compared to my 996. My 1999 911did not feel dated or less satisying to drive than the 997 the 997 just felt tighter and more powerful.

I would proably trade up but I use my Porsche to do errands and such and save my "Queens" for special days. The car has been so perfect concerning relaibility I see no reason to change at least now.

Thanks,

Lee
