Default What are the costs with Porsche 911?

Which AWD 911 are you looking at? The insurance will cost you big if it's the Turbo. Not so much for the Carrera 4 or Carrera 4S. While your age will push insurance up, a clean record can help keep it down. I'm an old guy and my normally-aspirated 911 (gone now) cost me no more to insure than my Subaru Outback.

Tires? I've never seen tires that cost $500 per tire. You CAN spend $1,200 to Piwis Tester II $1,500 per set of four. I race my 2005 911 Turbo S. I like Kumho Ecsta SPTs for track and street. $770 for a full set of four tires delivered to my front porch from tire rack.

The year 911 you're talking about will qualify for Certified Porsche used status, IF you buy from a dealer. This will extend your warranty for 2 additional years. It's well worth it to get this warranty. Regardless of whether you get a Certified car or not, insist on full documentation of all required maintenance. Check the Car Fax for a clean record.

Your 911's oil changes will run about $250. HOWEVER, you'll only do them every 15,000 miles or each year, whichever comes first. I tried to talk my dealership into doing them more frequently. "Why?" was their response. Put the Mobile 1 oil into the car, as called for, and do service per factory requirements. Over time, it's only a bit more expensive than maintaining any other car.
