Default wheel release "clunk" at start off

Have you 9ll drivers often noticed this release or clunking noise when you start off your car after it was parked for a few days? The dealer explains it as rust that builds up on the brakes when it sits. Perfectly normal -- supposedly. But why don't other cars like MB's or BMW's do the same?

It sounds like your handbrake mechanism may need freeing off, the handbrakepads are sticking onto the rotors. A good clean up and a bit of lubricationof the mechanism will help.
I would also remove all the brake pads to andcheck they are snug in the housings but can move freely.
This phenomena is more likely to be apparent if you put the car away wet.

Leave the emergency brake off, it'll stop.
