Default Where to buy 1978-1988 911 Performance parts?

I am new to the Porsche 911 world and was wondering where most of you guys go for your performance parts for classic 1978-1988 911's?

Suspension
ECU upgrades
Turbo Kits
Etc...

I know pelicanparts.com sells Porsche parts, but are there any other good places to get OEM parts?

Thanks guys!

Looking forward to being part of the community!

I 'll start by saying it is a very bad idea to modify an older car like that. NOTHING you do will make it perform even as well as a modern stock 911 or Boxster, and modification will bring all the issues you get with any modified car: added cost, more difficulty in getting parts and service, a slight (to extreme, depending) lose of reliability and driveability, and a lack of balance in its performance like the car had from the factory. and it will be very expensive. If you want extreme performance, insist on a Porsche, but are on a budget, look for an early 996 or Boxster in really good shape and work on turboing, etc., that. It will be much faster and be much cheaper overall.

The value of a classic Porsche rests in it being just that, a classic, and it is hard enough to keep one in original condition and very good running order. But that can be very satisfying.

Regardless, your first order of business will be to find good original parts for those portions you do not modify. I would check in the PCA's monthly magazine or go to a Barnes and Noble and look in the magazine section for either VW or Porsche hot-rodding magazines.
