Default working on a 911c4s purchase

Working on my first Porsche purchase. Like the 997, but wondering about the future.

1. does anyone know when the next evolution is scheduled to be launced ?

2. i understand the 997 is due for an upgrade in the automatic to a 6 speed, any info on when that might be ?

3. drove a 996, NOT impressed, is teh 997 that much better (from someone that might have owned both)?

Not sure when they are launching the next series of 911, but it probably won't be for awhile. 997 is a much nicer car than the 996 (though the 996 was a very good platform as well).

The 9964s was a used car, but only 35,000 on it. Power was good, but, few luxury options. Now I know its a sports car, but for the money it was missing alot of basics, and lots of squeeks / road noise on the test drive. I would even consider the stereo behind the times. The 997 is a big leap
into modern times.

c4s911,

Yeah, sorry I took yourassessment of the 996so personal. That’s what makes the world interesting, people with different opinions. I love my car, and consider myself blessed to own one at such a relatively young age.
