928 Electric Seats
I have a 1989 S4 with an electric seat issue. I moved the driver seat as far foward as possible with the seat switch until it stopped. Now the seat will not go back. I jumped the switch and I hear a clicking sound but no movement in any direction. I tried to pull the seat back while activating the switch but no success. The seat back works fine. How do I move the seat back so I can get access to the front mounting bolts so I may remove the seat.
Try using the tool that came with the car for this exact problem.
It's that huge allen-key gizmo that will fit into the hole in the front of the plastic cover that is at the front of the seat, on the underside (of course).
This manually moves the seat - but most of the time, a slight turn with the tool will free the seat up and it will move with the power buttons again.
If you don't have the tool, pushing back and forth on the power button quickly sometimes frees the sticking motor too.
