So I'm in the process of buying a 79 928. It's got some minor problems, Speedometer and Odometer don't work and the power windows burn through fuses in a matter of hours. Are these common problems with the early 928s?
If so are there quick fixes for them?

 

The speed could be a bad cable, cheap to replace, just takes time.

If the power windows are going thru fuses like that, you have a wire touching ground. Take off your door panels and again follow the wires to see if a wire has been rubbing up against the door and is making contact with the door metal.

Most wiring problems are at the door jam (jamb?). If not there leave the door panel off and work the window up and down then feel the motor temp. To hot to touch? Bad motor go to the garbage.
