Hello,

I have an '82 928. Just recently, I lost power on my voltage meter. I have a brand new battery. There is no voltage coming from the alternator. I got a new alternator, installed it, hooked up the 2 battery cables to the alternator, and there was still no power from the alternator. Took it back, got another alternator, they tested it at the shop and it was good. I installed it, hooked up the batter cables to the alternator, and once again, it is dead. There is no power coming from the alternator. Something is killing the alternator. The car starts fine, just running off the battery. Anyone have any suggestions on what the problem could be?
