944 tire and rim sizes
Hey all;
I have a 1986 Na with standard NA telephone Dial rims. The tires currently on the car are 215/60/15 and 225/60/15 which look like tractor tires. Id like to install the proper turbo size tires (I like the look of different tires in the front vs. back). I think these are the specs. 205/55 VR 16 215/60 VR 15
Can I install these on my rims or do I have to change the rear rims to accommodate? I am not sure of the rim specs.
If someone could let me know the rim specs needed, if my tire size specs are correct and any possible variations using my rims, that would be much appreciated.
Thanks guys.
Speedy.

No it doesn't make sense, because you are inferring that you are using 2 different rim sizes, one a 16" and one a 15" The NA cars came with 15" rims, and the turbos came with 16" rims. That will upset the cars handling for sure. If you have stock rims on the NA, then you have 15" rims. You can't install a 16" tire on a 15" rim. You will have to stick with tires such as a 215/60/VR15 all the way around.

'86 944 (not Turbo) tire question
The stock tire size is 215/60/15 for this car. I currently run 225/60/15 on it with no problem but I recenly blew one out and wish to replace the set as they look too big and truck-like.
My question is this:
Question #1: Can I install 225/55/15 tires all the way around without causing issues?
Question #2: Can I install 245/50/15 on the REAR, 225/55/15 on the FRONT without causing issues?
