Default 944 won't stay cranked

1986 -944 2.5L, engine was going down the road and it cut off. let it sit and it starts back up fine and runs for 5 min. and cuts off. let it sit and the same. replaced plugs, wires, rotor cap ,and dist. cap coil, temp sensor. fuel system checks out by the book. checked the sensors at the rear of the engine and they check out according to the ohms. also the air flow sensor seems to check out o.k. any help will be appreciated.

I didn't see any mention of the infamous DME relay. Have you tried that? I've known a lot of 944 owners to actually keep a spare in their glovebox just in case.

this just happend to me it starts but wont stay cranked and everything is fine with it

A few more suggestions if you end up going through what I did. I replaced everything you did and later found out that there are certain parts that will "fail" occasionally so will be very hard to find until complete shut down. My glitches have been, an old immobilizer security system that shut down the fuel pump. DME relay. Clogged check-valve that overworked original fuel pump. All these problems caused intermittantshut downs that seemed to disappear after a few minutes but then occur again later.
