86 944 TURBO Won't start, won't shift
Hi, I am new to this forum and am hoping that someonecould help me with these two problems.
1) My 86 944 turbo when last driven was starting to overheat in the summer time. I especially noticed this when I was stopped in traffic. The temp gauge would continue to rise slowly, but when I started to move, the gauge would start to come down. None of the cooling fans would come on when I was stopped. Also when I tried to put on the ac ,black pieces of melted plastic would come out of the air vent.Shortly after the car would only start whenI gave it a jump.
2)I had my clutch replaced and 10,000 of work done on my car by German Motors of Providence,RI. After the overheating problem and the car being unused for two years, I jumped it and tried to put it into any gear but couldn't.The clutch felt great but the brake was very heavy and would only go down a couple of inches.Sorry for the run on sentences, just wondering if anyone has any ideas? thanks Alex
