Default 944S upgrade

Is there any small upgrade that will improven the throttle response from idle without sacrificing drivability for my 1987 944S? I know the S has a different engine and not sure which mods for the base 944 would apply. Thank you, Paul

The only thing different about the S was the 16v dual overhead cam and pistons for the 4 valves and the intake. Other than that the engine was essentially the same. I don't think the weltmeister throttle cam fits the S unfortunately, so you are kind of stuck.

Thanks Doc. Is there any kind of mass air sensor or chip that would help? It really runs great just looking for any little improvement. I took your advice on the wheels. Got a set of Boxster S II wheels. Love the new look. Looks 10 years more modern. I posted a pic of it. Thanks for the advice!!

There were a few companies that were doing MAF conversions, but I don't know if they still do them for the S. promax motorsports rings a bell as one who use to sell them. THe problem is they aren't exactly cheap.
