Default battery problem??

i have a 84 944 and my serpentine belt always squeaks.. i have bought a new one a couple times and it works for a couple weeks maybe and if i spray it with "belt conditioner" itll be ok for a whilebut itll start up agian.. especially if its night time (when my lights are on and theres more electric pull) but it has a new alternater so i dont know if it could be the battery or something. any suggestions would be appreciated thanks

Sounds like the belt is becoming loose.Check to make sure the bolts that mount the AC compressor have not come loose or fallen out. Then readjust the belt.On the 944 if they are the least bit loose they will squeal!!

Use Loc-Tite red or some other type of thread locker to help the bolt(s) stay in. Addition of a German type wavy washer on the bolts could also help. Don't over-tighten.

If you use loctite, use blue. Red is a real pain to break lose if you need to, without using a torch. But if everything is installed correctly, you should never have to use loctite.
