No Start..........

RE: No Start..........
Update. I just got my new oscilloscope Sun LS2000 (Maybe I can figure out how to work it)
I hooked it up the way described on clarks. I get a nice wave saw tooth on the speed sen. I get just a flat line on the front hole BG. I swapped sensors and the same thing. Flat line on the front hole. I must have damadged the flywheel screw when the engine was out I guess.
Question. Is it possible to fix and access through the hole under the ref sensor bracket????? (I know wishfull thinking)

The .8mm needs to be pretty close. You can probably be off a hair one way or another and be ok. I took my micrometer to the hardware store, found a washer the right size, and glued it to the bottom of the old sensor to use as a special tool, just as clark shows. Works like a charm.

Here is what the ref screw looks like?
How much is supposed to stick up?

The leading edge does look damaged

RE: No Start..........
IT LIVES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I had to shim under the ref sensor to get the right clearance. I think my screw must stick up a little too much. But whatever it starts every time now. I figured I could not hurt it, because otherwise the engine was coming back out.
Its got a little rough idle, ( I can hear what sounds like a vac leak ) Small compared to no start
Thanks for help Porschedoc .
I am sure I will be on here a bunch more (just getting started, )
I knew it was just a matter of time. See everyone a 944 no start can be fixed!!!!
I now have a spare computer, coil, sensor, and dme relay.
Next, Timing belts, brakes, interior, paint, and drive
