Default The odometer fix

Whats the part that you need to get to fix the odometer when it stops working and is there a write up some where? Also my gas gauge stops at half way full is this common, is it just the float in the tank or is it in the dash?

I ment is the problem in the dash not the float.

Rennbay has the odometer gears.

The float in the tank runs on two extremely thin wires, sometimes the wires will get gummed up and won't ride correctly.

I dont know, it isn't exactly rocket science. Pull the cluster, pop the screws off the back to separate the cluster and figure out the install from there.

Thats what I thought but it seems like a common thing that goes wrong so I thought there might be a very specific write up so that people could just blow through it. But I will just wing it like you said its not rocket science

Here is one of the guides, the site doesn't provide a direct link but go here: http://www.clarks-garage.com/ and than click on "Garage Shop Manual" on the left side, scroll down to letter "O" and click on "Repairing Odometer" scroll down just a bit until you see "Other Procedures Needed" and under it click "ELECT-07, Removing Late 944 (1985.5 and newer) Gauge Cluster", that should get you pretty far.

Easy fix, already have done it. Clark's garagehas great instructions. I was also having the same problem with the gas guage, I loosened the sensor and jiggled around and now it works fine.
