I don't know if this is an issue with my 87 944. When I lock/unlock the passenger side with the key, the driver side locks/unlocks as well, but not true if I do the same from the driver side; only the driver side locks/unlocks. The lock/unlock console button only works with the driver side door, although I hear clunking noise from the passenger side door, but the lock plunger does not move. Any similar experiences?

 

The actuator inside the passenger side door sounds like its bad. Both sides should unlock from either side when you use the key.
