Default RPM

so i finally got to really take my 83 out for a drive and it i pushed it up to 5200RPM it would act liek it was wanting to die. it would kinda suptter and just not go any higher so i didnt push it. it says that it makes 150bhp@5800RPM so i was just wondering what was up with mine if any one knows

Could be a vacuum issue, coil issue, possible tps issue, bad wires, plugs, dist cap and rotor, could be a lot of things. You should be able to pop it off the rev limiter no problem....not that you really want to do that.

ya she does probally need a full tune up but she will rev a lot higher when not in gear so it just made me wonder
