I just put the 944 away for the winter and I would like to do a few upgrades.

1) I would like to get a chip for the car. I have a 84 944, do I need to upgrade my DME to a 85.5+ for the chip to be fully effective? I have heard this from other owners (none of them chipped there cars though) and would like the opinion of the board considering the knowledge from some of the senior members. What chip is the best to get for the early 944s?

2) On 944online there is a Big Bore Throtlle Body I would like to get. Is this worth it? Has anyone put this on their early modle 944? Is the difference worth the price?

3) There is also a Bursch Header Kit on 944online that comes with the cat rplacment pipe. Has anyone put this on their early 944? Is the performance worth the price?

These are all smaller mods that I would like to make so that next summer my 944 is faster and more responsive. Are there any other upgrades that I could make to increase horsepower. I will also be doing a suspension upgrade and other minor interior and exterior fixings. Thanks for the ideas, comments, knowledge and opinions.
