My Boxster was in a little fender bender.What is my best option? - should I havethe fender replaced (which would be more costly) or should I have it repaired professionally with body filler?

 

I think it depends, and that it is not an obvious decisions (many would say, repair it "right" which means replacing the fender.

I did that on an Audi several years ago thatwas hit fairly well. The old was cut off and the new welded on. Mistake. Cutting and welding affects body and chassis strength and it is difficult to get the welds as right as the factory did.

For that reason, if it is a slight dign and can be done with body filler, I prefer that, particularly if I am dealing with bonded or welded aluminum. But remember the qualifier you had "repaired professionally" with filler. Get someone really good who will do it correctly - down to and into the metal surface.
