Hi, I have an 02 Boxster, and after very short distances the engine sounds very hot. i.e. the heat can be heard from the metal parts "tinkling" a sound you usually get from cars after stopping following a lengthy period of driving. Is this normal? Many thanks for any replies.

 

They tick when they heat up just as they tick when they cool down, you just usually can't hear it because of the engine and road noise.

 

Have you check oil temperature if there is a guage for this?

Check fluids!
