I am having some confusion on wether my 98 boxster even has the has the keyless remote function. My car did not come with the remote key, as I was told it was lost, I do have the valet key and the lighted head key, but that key does not have the chip in it, so its for the doors only, wont start the car without the chip. The car has the black box under the driver seat for the system, but before I order a remote head and get it programed, how do I know for sure?

 

To my knowledge they ALL came with keyless entry.

 

I ask, because its not under the hood as an option code 535, plus, it is in the options book for that year car, as an option, but not listed under standard items that come with the car, so I still dont know for sure, all has the central locking system, but I dont know if the alarm and the keyless entry was option only.
