I dont have my key anymore, what to do?
I will call them tomorrow, but reading many different stories oncosts, special numbers or codes for the car, can they do itoff VIN only? or is there any other number they have to have, which i hope not as I dont have the manuals with the car.
They should just need the VIN number. Costs will vary greatly from dealer to dealer I am afraid. Some dealers charge 250 for an oil change, our local dealer does them for 59 bucks.
I am waiting for a call back, BUT, I was told by a local key guy you MUST have the credit card size item that came with the car, as it has a bar code on it for the program, if not, it cannot be done, and Porsche does not maintain a master file with the bar codes, and my car does not have this card, according to him, I am screwed unless I replace the brain under the seat for the system and get new coded keys all over again.
hope this is not true as i only have the one key too... its the remote key, but the remote door opening part doesnt work... have to unlock the doors manually... was hopeing to get this fixed.. is it and easy fix?
