Default Instrument cluster replacement

Does anyone happen to know if I can simply "plug & play" another (used) instrument cluster into my 2005 Boxster? Do I need to go to the dealer to "synch up" the instrument cluster?

Is a cluster from a 2008 compatible with my 2005?

You will need to have a computer do some calibrating. And I would call the franchise store parts department to see if the part numbers are compatible. I would guess that they are not, but you never know. Good luck...
