Have used an escort and A valentine one before. There is no comparison. Valentine all the way man!!! But dont take my word for it....heh...try it out for yourself. The range diff and the arrows of the Valentineonewill make ya a believer.

Here is my breakdown on radar detectors. I have used them all, installed them all. They are all top of the line units which will serve their purpose, but just like comparing a bad detector versus a good detector, you can do the same with a good detector vs. a good detector. I probably install the Escort SR7 (laser detector + ZR3 laser shifters) the most, and I have found it to be the most reliable.

Escort SR7: With a stealth install, this is a very good detector. Not only is it a detector, but it is also a laser shifter if do get hit by a cop, which scrambles the signal going back.

V1: Falses ALOT. Sure you aren't going to get a ticket when you are always hitting the brakes because it is going off. The arrows are very nice to have though. The distance it alerts from is impressive, usually a couple miles ahead. Not quite immune to a radar detector detector used by cops.

K40: Nice unit, but falses more than the escort SR7

Escort Passport 8500: Does not false nearly as much as the V1, the distance is very similar of alert, but you don't have the arrows. A minor inconvience.
