Default replacement clutch

hi all, i'm looking to buy a 2005 boxster (987) from a porsche dealer. the car has only done 40 000km and has already had a replacement clutch and flywheel! the dealer told me that it was not unusual and part of the normal wear and tear for the manual, but i feel that there must be something wrong with the car for it to need a replacement clutch at 40 000km and my gut says to stay away from it. what is the normal lifespan for a clutch, and should i worry about the fact that the car needed a replacement clutch at 40 000km?

Default RE: replacement clutch

There is nothing wrong with the car, it was the owner who drove it. Clutches can go at 10k miles, 25k, miles, 50k miles, or 200k miles.....it all depends on the guy driving it. More than likely the previous owner rested his foot on the clutch pedal while driving, causing premature wear.
