Default Thermostat, top or bottom

I've got a 2000 2.7 20k and its overheating. My front fans come on at 190 but there is no hot water up front. No leaks anywhere so i'm thinking water pump OK. My guess is thermostat, is it on top of the engine, on on the bottom, and what kind of job am I looking at to replace it. I have always worked on all my own Porsche's and haven't seen the top side of my Boxster engine as of yet. thanks foe any info, Bob

Default RE: Thermostat, top or bottom

It is at the bottom of the engine, and there is a special tool to get it out of the housing.
