Default HELP WITH OIL CHANGE PROBLEM

I need big help here, I was in the process of changing the oil on my 05 Cayenne S, and removed the wrong drain plug...out of this drain some dark greenish almost gray and very smelly oil came out, about one quart of this oil came out, does any one have an idea what type of oil I just drained? I don't want to move the car until I refill this oil...I'm posting a picture for you to see the location of this drain plug...PLEASE HELP as I can move my car until I refill this "mystery" oil.

Thank you.

There are two drain plugs you need to pull for the oil change, but the one you pulled isn't one of them. I would guess that is a differential drain plug, but I haven't ever really messed with a cayenne diff, so I don't know for sure. I am guessing you are smelling the gear lube. Take a shot from further back for me, or a different angle and I should be able to tell you for sure.

Thank you PorscheDoc, here is a better pic, hope this helps...now if it is the differential drain plug, how do I refill the oil I already drained from it?

Thanks again.

If you look up the side of that (probably above the drain plug on the side of the case), there should be another plug used for filling. Remove the plug and fill it up until it flows out the hole. I will require a pump though more than likely.

The dealership has confirmed that I did drain the differential fluid; they told me that I need 3 liters to refill it at $78 each; does that sound right to you? I did not relaize the differential fluid was that expensive nor that I would need that much...
