Default timing belt-valves

I am in the process of getting a 1983 Porsche 944. The timing belt broke for it and was told that it might and most likely has bent valves. What valves?

Default RE: timing belt-valves

Yes, the valves in the head are going to be bent if it broke the timing belt. There are 8 valves in the head, and you can typically bet that 4 of them will be bent at least. You won't know if they are the intakes or the exhausts until you pull the head. I would plan on installing new valve guides and seals while you have the head off. Get it trued up, new valves installed, and put it back together. You should be doing the rollers and waterpump and new belts when you put it back together so you don't have this problem again. Figure anywhere from $500-750 doing the work yourself.
