gas fumes in 924

Default gas fumes in 924

Hi all, my 86 924 get gas fumes in car, when I put more than 5.00 of fuel in tank, what could that be? is it a problem with these particular models? thanks for info......

It's not a problem I've ever heard of. Have you checked under the car for leaks? The fuel lines on 924s are prone to corrosion though. If you do have a fuel leak, I would get it sorted as soon as possible and I wouldn't use the car until you do!

Hey ctiggerpigglet, do you think I should do the die in the gastank to see if I have a leak under the hood? I dont see obvious leaks, mabe the die and the black light might do the trick to find it, or do you think it could be a leaky injector? Some shade tree guy, told me mabe the mass air flow control may be choking the car too much or something like that..... Im at a loss....

I'm not sure, I thought (hoped) PorscheDoc would have posted possible causes for this problem. Try sending him a personal message. If anyone knows, he should![sm=signs007.gif]
